EIG LIVERPOOL 2026: ONLINE STORE - FIELD TRIPS
This year, the EIG Conference has put together some wonderful field trips and site visits. We would love you to support the organisers, the conference and our very kind hosts by attending these if you are able. Full details of the trips can be found using the button below, but here are a few highlights:
NSG Pilkington Greengate Glass Works
This visit will provide an opportunity to understand the geology and raw materials behind glass production, and explore the processes and engineering involved in the manufacture of high-performance glass products.
Mersey Tunnels Tour
This 1.5 hour private tour offers a fascinating insight into the large-scale engineering beneath Liverpool. Highlighting the interaction between geology, hydrogeology and engineering design within urban infrastructure.
Bathgate Silica Sand - Arclid Quarry
The field trip to Arclid Quarry offers an opportunity to explore a major quarry and production facility for high-quality industrial minerals. It will examine high-purity silica sand deposition and extraction processes and ongoing initiatives to enhance sustainability.
Conference Delegates
Delegates have the opportunity to book their field trip attendance as part of their delegate booking, but if you have booked for the conference and not added a field trip, it’s not too late. You can use the store widget below to add additional field trips to your booking, and also additional accommodation if you missed this too.
Non-Delegates
We have also decided to open up the opportunity to attend the field trips to non-delegates. If you have friends or colleagues that would be interested in joining us, please encourage them to come along. Non-delegates can also use the store widget below to book their places.
Additional Accommodation
You may wish to book additional night’s accommodation either before or after those included in the conference package if you have now decided to attend a field trip, particualrly on Friday.
