The next biennial conference will be held at the University of Liverpool in 2026.

24TH EIG CONFERENCE - UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL 2026

8th - 11th september 2026

Our next biennial conference will take place at the University of Liverpool. Centred on the well-known Victoria Building, the ‘original Red Brick’ university provides an excellent, compact venue with the conference facilities – state-of-the-art lecture theatres, vast trade exhibition space, refreshments and Icebreaker venue – all within walking distance of the modern accommodation.  The campus is located on the edge of the city centre within easy reach of numerous other attractions, including the world-famous Pier Head waterfront, the Albert Dock, the Cavern Club, the Liverpool One shopping centre and a myriad of traditional pubs.  Field trip options currently being explored range from silica sand operations and the Winsford rock salt mine in Cheshire to Carboniferous Limestone quarries in North Wales and the famous Williamson Tunnels, beneath Liverpool itself.   The conference Chairman will be Dr Alan Thompson, Director of Cuesta Consulting Ltd. and a former graduate and postgraduate at the university.
