The organising committee are excited to finally open online bookings for the upcoming conference in Hull, with what promises to be a diverse and engaging programme, coupled with some interesting optional field visits to local extractive industry operations.

This year’s conference sessions will cover a wide variety of topics, including the usual core subject areas and case studies, and promise a bit of something for everyone:

Following feedback from delegates at previous events, we have decided to move the conference from its traditional Thursday / Friday lecture format this year to a Wednesday / Thursday spot, with field trips on Tuesday and Friday. This will allow those wishing to go on the post-conference field visits to do so without eating into the weekend, and hopefully also encourage people to stay a bit longer and continue to network after the final lecture sessions without needing to keep one eye on the Friday traffic.

You can book your place at the conference using our new online booking system. You will be able to purchase your delegate attendance, plus any optional extras such as additional nights accommodation or secure one of the limited places on our popular field visits.

The committee have worked hard to maximise value for money from the event, helped by the great support from our many sponsors and trade exhibitors, including our headline sponsor the MPA.

Social Events

In addition to our usual excellent Conference Dinner which will take place on the evening of the 4th September, we are delighted to be able to extend those networking opportunities at this year’s Icebreaker Reception on the evening of the 3rd September, kicking off the conference in style at ‘The Deep’, the spectacular waterfront venue in Hull.

After kick-starting the conference at such a breathtaking venue, the drama will continue the following evening where a performance from our live band, ‘The Indianas’ will follow the Conference Dinner.

One of the most in-demand party bands working in the UK right now, The Indianas guarantee high-energy entertainment with some of the biggest songs from the past 5 decades performed on keyboard, saxophone, guitar, drums, bass and with incredible lead vocals. Check out the following video for a flavour of what they offer - its sure to be a special evening!

As with all our activities, this event is sponsorable. Various drinks packages for the Conference Dinner are available, as well as sponsoring the band performance itself (see below).

Sponsorship

In order to maintain the exceptional value that the EIG Conference offers, we rely heavily on our sponsors to help subsidise the event, allowing us to offer great venues, congenial socials and a stimulating programme. If you would like to support EIG by sponsoring the event in Hull, please review the link below, where you can find numerous opportunities for budgets large and small. All our sponsors are promoted in different ways across the conference media. As with the rest of the conference, sponsorship can now be secured via our online store.

Trade Exhibition

Aligning with the rest of the conference in embracing online booking, stands at the popular conference trade exhibition went on sale from the 31st of January 2024. Thank you to all those who have supported the EIG in the past, we look forward to welcoming you Hull 2024. Book one of the remaining spaces now:
