The membership has grown and includes many enthusiastic amateurs, students and teachers as well as professional geologists.  The group retains its two main aims: to raise awareness of geology and landscape through education and to conserve and protect geological sites in the Warwickshire area.

The WGCG are a regsitered charity: Charity No. 1144717, Website: http://www.wgcg.co.uk/

Awards in memory of Rob Holloway

Rob Holloway, a former Primary School teacher, was a long standing member of the group with a great enthusiasm for field work and collecting. He left a generous bequest to the group and wished that some of it should be used to encourage young people to develop an interest in geology and to support geology students early in their career.

Warwickshire Geology Conservation Group (WGCG) and the EIG are pleased to offer two bursaries in memory of Rob Holloway to university Geology and Earth Science students and young professionals in the ‘geology industries’.

These two schemes are wholly separate from the current EIG scholarship. Please find details of both the co funded and the stand alone bursary schemes below.
